Atlanta fireman calls Takeoff's music as a mode of escape for many people
A memorial service is being held for the slain rapper Takeoff in a rainy downtown Atlanta near where the 28-year-old grew up.
State Farm Arena, home of the Atlanta Hawks, is celebrating the rapper's life and music, and a massive sign outside the arena was lit up with the rapper’s image.
Takeoff was shot and killed earlier this month outside a Houston bowling alley and a woman and another man were also wounded in the process.
Migos music represented the creativity and culture of the Black community and the group is now too sad to make some new music-at least for a while.
An Atlanta firefighter, Eric Hood, said he could not believe it when he heard the news of the rapper's demise.
Friday was the day when large crowds gathered as an ode to the late Takeoff, homouring him and his great contribution towards his work.
