Donald Trump took the stage at the White House Correspondents Association Dinner after a shooting disrupted the original event in April.

The President of the United States poked fun at Nicki Minaj while addressing the gunfire, noting: “But after hearing the gunshots, many people yelled. Get Down”

He continued at the event’s address, stating that the command “caused Nicki Minja to start twerking. Can you believe it?”

According to the 80-year-old, the rapper was “the only one that really understood what that meant.”

The statement sparked a wave of laughter amongst the gatherers as Trump pointed out: “It was quite an evening.”

The president was of the opinion that and others have come together to answer the “heinous attack with unwavering resolve,” showing that they “do not yield to political violence.”

After the video went viral, the online community initially thought that the video was fake and was shared by a parody account.

However, a Barbie World crooner’s fan pointed out on X (formerly Twitter): “Nicki, they’re playing in your face.”

Another netizen was of the opinion that the Republicans turned the musician in to “a joke” after her political support for the politician.

Was Erika Kirk present at the rescheduled White House dinner?

It remains unconfirmed if the Turning Point USA’s CEO Erika Kirk was present at the July event as she was earlier she was seen emotionally exiting the venue.
