Luke Wilson has given fans a promising update on the long awaited The Family Stone sequel.
The actor recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight, where he reflected on the film’s lasting popularity and revealed that the follow up is finally moving forward.
He said to the outlet that he never expected the 2005 holiday comedy to become a tradition for so many families.
"It's one of those movies where, when it came out, you know, it's just one of those things when, over the years, more people mentioned it to me, and then families would say 'We watch it at Christmas' or 'We watch it at Thanksgiving.' It really caught me by surprise," he admitted.
The Legally Blonde star also confirmed that the sequel is happening after reading the script.
"I can’t believe it's happening, but it is," he mentioned.
"Tom Bezucha is a great writer and a great director, and I read the script, and it’s really funny, and it’s so nice that everybody wants to work together again," he shared.
"And I think you know, after the death of Diane Keaton, it'll be even more meaningful because she was so great to be around on the first one."
Director Thomas Bezucha previously confirmed that he is working on the sequel, while Dermot Mulroney recently revealed it may be titled The Families Stone.
