Dylan Sprouse has opened up about a terrifying attempted home invasion revealing he confronted an alleged intruder at gunpoint while his wife Barbara Palvin called the police.

"Barbara and I were ripping Pokémon packs," the actor said explaining that after opening card packs together he stayed downstairs playing video games while his wife headed upstairs.

At around 12:30 a.m. Sprouse heard someone rattling the front door.

"The first thought that goes through my head is my dad... The second thought that went through my head is someone's trying to steal our Pokémon cards," he said.

Although he joked that their Pokémon collection wasn't the most valuable thing in the house he added, "That's obviously the life of my wife."

Sprouse immediately ran upstairs to retrieve his firearm. "I calculated this... twenty seconds outside with a gun. Upstairs, grab the 1911 Kimber, downstairs, out the door in 20 seconds," he recalled.

When Barbara asked if someone was trying to break in Sprouse told her to stay upstairs while she contacted emergency services.

Outside Sprouse confronted the suspected intruder. "Who's there?" he shouted.

The man replied, "Nobody!" Sprouse said the individual emerged slowly into the light holding a cigarette in one hand and a longboard skateboard in the other.

"He must be kind of tweaking," the actor recalled thinking. He instructed the man to slowly walk off the property with his hands visible.

"Walk slow, keep your hands out, like, I don't want any funny business," Sprouse told him.

After noticing wires hanging from the suspect's pockets and a bulge under his sweatshirt Sprouse asked him to lift it discovering it was only a fanny pack.

He then had the man sit and wait until officers arrived. "Case closed," Sprouse said. "Didn't press charges, he got in the slammer because of his previous arrest warrants and I want to have him on the pod."

He also laughed off rumors that he physically tackled the intruder.

"I never tackled the guy, but everybody thinks I did and I'm not correcting them. I want people to think I did, because it's cool," he joked.
