Taylor Swift’s induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame prompted Travis Kelce to leave Chiefs minicamp early and travel to New York on Thursday, June 11.

The 36-year-old NFL star arrived in time for the ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Hotel, where the I Knew It, I Knew You hitmaker was seated with her mother Andrea Swift and Kelce’s mother Donna Kelce.

As per Dailymail, the groom to be had been attending the Chiefs’ three day minicamp program, which concluded earlier that day, allowing him to travel to New York following his team commitments.

The appearance came after he was not present at the pop star’s courtside outing at Madison Square Garden earlier in the week, when the New York Knicks went on to beat the San Antonio Spurs in a comeback during the NBA Finals crossover.

After the game, he was seen engaging in a social media activity spree, liking several posts featuring Swift from the event.

However, the Grammy winner is being inducted alongside major music figures including Kenny Loggins, Alanis Morissette, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of KISS, Walter Afanasieff, Terry Britten and Graham Lyle, and Christopher “Tricky” Stewart.

She will become the youngest woman ever to receive the honor, with Stevie Wonder remaining the youngest inductee overall at age 32 in 1983.

Notably, Swift’s submission list included All Too Well (10 Minute Version), Blank Space, Anti-Hero, Love Story and The Last Great American Dynasty.
