Sharon Osbourne recently set the record straight on creating an AI version of late rocker Ozzy amid the backlash.

The media personality and her son, Jack Osbourne discussed the Ozzy AI project during The Osbournes podcast on June 5.

While responding to the criticism over Ozzy’s AI creation, Sharon said, “Technology moves on and for somebody to turn around to me and say I'm doing a cash grab, no. You don't know my husband.”

Sharon and Jack mentioned that they want to preserve the legacy of Ozzy alive after his tragic demise in July last year at age 76.

Therefore, this AI project, the late musician’s wife added, “It's something that will pass on through our family, and it's for our grandkids.”

Elsewhere on the podcast, Jack opened up that the project is “closed AI,” and it’s not connected to the internet.

“It is based on a database containing only information that either my dad said or was written accurately about him,” explained the 40-year-old.

Jack further said that this project will be “tasteful and the reaction… It's innovative”.

“It's either we do it or someone else is gonna do it… For me, it's not about pretending he's still alive. It's making sure he's never forgotten,” stated the podcast co-host.

For the unversed, the company behind the AI project, Hyperreal, shared that they use “patented digital DNA” technology to create Ozzy’s avatars.
