Mika Abdalla and her ex-fiancé Jake Short have addressed a resurfaced podcast clip that recently gained attention online following their breakup.

In a joint statement shared with the publisher, the former couple responded to discussion around a 2024 episode of The Sit and Chat podcast, saying, "We’ve seen a conversation around clips of us together when we were in a relationship."

As per Us Weekly, they mentioned, "And people making harmful and inaccurate assumptions about our dynamic,"

They went on to add that they “were in a loving, respectful relationship for five years” and emphasized,

“it’s hurtful to see playful moments dissected in a way that does not reflect the respect and love we had and still have for each other."

Their clarification comes shortly after news of their split after five years together.

Meanwhile, a representative for Abdalla confirmed, “Because of the immense curiosity about Mika’s personal life and in light of numerous erroneous reports, I can clarify that Mika and Jake are no longer in a relationship.”

The rep added that the pair continue “to support each other as friends,” and requested privacy moving forward.

For the unversed, Abdalla and Short first met on the set of Sex Appeal in 2021 and later became engaged before ultimately going their separate ways.
