Celine Dion has paid an emotional tribute to R&B and Disney legend Peabo Bryson following news of his death at the age of 75 after a stroke.
Sharing a throwback image on Instagram on June 2, the singer remembered the late icon and their widely loved 1991 collaboration on Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
In her post, she wrote, "I'm heartbroken to heart that we lost Peabo Bryson today. His incredible voice and his kind spirit embodied the beauty of song and performance."
She continued, "He made me so comfortable, as I was just learning to sing in English... His voice and talent will be missed. "My heart is with your family, and may you rest in peace Peabo. Love, Celine xx."
A representative confirmed Bryson “transitioned peacefully,” while his family thanked fans for their support, saying they were comforted by the global love shown for the singer.
However, Bryson previously reflected on working with Dion, saying,
"When you're a great singer like [Céline], oftentimes you find yourself in situations where you have to dial back...So essentially that renders into a situation where there are no weaknesses because you're playing to them both equally."
