Michael Jackson, known as “King of Pop,” has been topping charts again ever since a biopic on him released in April 2026.
The Smooth Criminal made history by becoming the “first and only act to earn a new Hot 100 hit in each of the last six consecutive decades.”
This milestone was made possible after Jaafar Jackson starrer Michael hit the theatres, becoming fan favourite.
With a budget of approximately $200 million, the movie was able to garner over $850 million globally and continues to grow.
The project officially became “one highest grossing films of the year” while the singer keeps ranking high on the Spotify charts.
The second part of the biopic has been confirmed as well to be in production; however, the second instalment is said to be releasing between 2028 and 2029.
On the other hand, a three-part series Michael Jackson: The Verdict is about to be releasing on Netflix which claims to be breaking down his controversial 2005 child molestation trial.
The singer has always denied the accusations of sexual abuse and molestation, insisting all those are completely false.
However, a trend sparked amongst the online community of boycotting the trial documentary and instead rush to the theatres to watch the biopic again.
