Chappell Roan has recently revealed real reason behind deleting social media apps.

The American singer shared that she wants to protect her mental health and even creative process, which is why, she decides to remove all the apps.

“It is kind of disheartening sometimes to really go into the comment section,” says the Pink Pony Club singer during an appearance on P&G and iHeartRadio's Elton John Impact Awards podcast on June 1.

While speaking to host Elton, Chappell mentions that she “just deletes it when it becomes too much and keep it moving”.

The singer-songwriter hits out at the netizens who writes negative comments about them, saying no matter what they say this won’t stop her or people like Elton from “donating money, donating time and writing about things that matter to us”.

Elsewhere in the interview, Chappell finds it difficult to separate “social media and their job” and “being a good person” as an artist.

Despite plenty of negativity, there are people who stand up for the Casual singer as well.

Chappell opens up that this is “a difficult world to navigate that personally” even if she deletes it and keeps on moving because that’s hard for a lot of artists”.

“If you really rely on social media to fuel your momentum, that can be really disheartening and it can feel very hopeless,” points out the 28-year-old.

As she concludes her interview with Elton, Chappell notes that she’s in a very privileged position where “I can be like, 'I'm not gonna be on this and I'll be fine.' But not everyone is like that”.
