Chappell Roan controversy grows as guard takes blame

A security guard at the centre of the Chappell Roan controversy has broken his silence, taking full responsibility for an incident that left an 11-year-old girl in tears and sparked widespread online debate.

The altercation took place at a hotel in São Paulo, where Roan was staying ahead of her performance. 

The child, reportedly the daughter of Jude Law and singer Catherine Harding, had briefly passed by Roan’s table when a security guard confronted her and her mother, allegedly in an aggressive manner.

According to Daily Mail, the guard, identified as Pascal Duvier, later issued a statement saying he acted independently and was not part of Roan’s team. 

Moreover, he admitted the situation was a “judgment call” and expressed regret, emphasizing that he alone was responsible for the encounter.

Roan herself denied any involvement, stating she was unaware of the incident at the time and had not instructed anyone to approach the family. 

As per the outlet, she also apologized for the distress caused, reiterating her support for fans.

As the story gained traction, social media users began comparing Roan’s situation with other pop stars, including Sabrina Carpenter, reigniting debates around celebrity behaviour, fan boundaries, and accountability.
