Terri Irwin hints at ‘Dancing with the Stars’ debut amid family success

Terri Irwin, following the success of her children Bindi and Robert Irwin, is eyeing her spot in the next dancing competition season.

During her appearance at the 3rd Annual Steve Irwin Gala in Las Vegas, the conservationist shared her thoughts on potentially joining the hit ABC season.

Speaking to the E!News, she said about participating, “I'll review the petition.”

"I am honoured to be asked if I would do it because it's an amazing thing," she continued. "I remember Bindi saying, 'This is the closest you'll ever get to flying. You feel free. It's euphoric. It's amazing.'"

Her son Robert, who won the previous season, 34, alongside professional dancer Witney Carson, assured that he'll get his mom on board no matter what it takes, saying, "I'll get her. Don't worry. We're gonna get her on the next season. I'm gonna make it happen!"

He even suggests long-time pal Val Chmerkovskiy as her ideal partner.

Witney also backed the pairing, explaining that Val’s experience and ability to balance discipline with fun would make a perfect fit for Terri.

"She's the last Irwin. We've got to get Terri on the show. I think she would do incredible. We had her do a little bit in our dedication dance," Witney explained.

The interview came amid the growing success of Robert within the DTWS franchise. Following his Mirrorball victory, he was also announced as the host of the upcoming spinoff series Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro.

It will premiere later this year.
