Stranger Things star Gabriella Pizzolo shared how Natalia Portman shaped her degree choice.

The 23-year-old played fan-favourite Suzie Bingham on the Netflix sci-fi series.

During her appearance at the Broadway premiere of Beaches in New York City, in conversation with the People magazine, the actress shared that she holds two college degrees.

“I have a degree in psychology and music,” she said.

Talking about how Portman inspired her, she added, “I remember I was looking for what to study, and I saw Natalie Portman studied psychology, and not necessarily anything in the world of drama.”

Discussing about her psychology degree, the Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin explained, “And I was like, ‘That's actually really smart.' It's an alternative to drama and theater, but you still learn a lot about people and how they interact through that.”

About balancing her work life with education, Pizzolo said that she used to go to shoots during the night time and attend school during the day.

She was delighted to be able to attend the campus, rather than study from home.

Referring to her character in hit TV series, she continued, “I feel like it's a very Suzie track to go to school, and be in school while everyone else is out saving the world, doing their things, demogorgons, all that.”

Sharing her future plans, the Butterbean’s Café star said she would continue with theatre, film and acting, adding that psychology “helps a lot of actors.”
