Olivia Wilde sparked widespread concern with her latest, gaunt looking red carpet appearance which quickly set the internet ablaze, and the actress has now responded to all the chatter.
The Don’t Worry Darling star attended the San Francisco International Film Festival, to promote her new movie, The Invite on April 24, and the movie’s buzz was overshadowed by pictures of her.
In response, the director took to her Instagram story to share a clip of her brother teasing her over the as she compared herself to the Lord of the Rings character Gollum.
Olivia’s brother, Charlie Cockburn, can be heard asking in the clip, “Olivia Wilde, do you care to address recent rumors that you're a resurrected corpse?”
"Listen, that's a fish-eye lens. And I admit, is that my best angle? Was that my best-ever look? No. No, it's startling. It's a startling image,” the Her actress answered.
She added, “It was a fish-eye lens. I don't know why I was so close to the camera. I didn't have to be. That's not the truth.”
The brother-sister duo could be heard laughing throughout the lighthearted clip as the 42-year-old defended herself from the criticism.
