Taylor Swift sets record straight on Jack Antonoff fallout

Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff’s longstanding camaraderie and professional partnership raised eyebrows after the release of The Life of the Showgirl.

Internet users speculated that the 1989 collaborators had a falling out because they had taken a break from working together for the global popstar’s twelfth studio album.

In her latest interview with the New York Times Magazine, the Is It Over Now? singer stated, “Jack Antonoff is a collaborator of mine and one of my best friends.”

Taylor’s remark cleared up rumours that the duo’s relationship had soured, and the 14-time Grammy winner went on to talk about one of the pair’s favourite songwriting tactics.

“We established this thing that we love to do, and we call it the rant bridge. It's basically like stream of consciousness, endless pouring-out of emotion, intrusive thoughts, blended with metaphor, with discussion, with shouting," the 36-year-old revealed.

Taylor went on to add that what the musicians aspire to achieve with the ‘rant bridge’ is for it to feel like the amplified version of the feeling they are trying to establish in the song throughout, like a crescendo.

Notably, the Eras Tour performer also gave examples of tracks her and Jack had worked on which had this feature, such as Cruel Summer and Out Of The Woods.
