Finn Wolfhard’s reference to Taylor Swift and Kanye West’s infamous award show moment during a live performance with his band, and the actor has only taken things further with his latest announcement.
The Stranger Things star took to his social media to announce his new upcoming single with the words from the highly awkward moment.
For the unversed, during the 2009 MTV VMA Awards the Runaway rapper had interrupted the Red singer’s speech to say "Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you. Imma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time."
Finn has now announced his new song I’ll Let You Finish with the official release date being set for April 29th.
The new release has sparked fresh backlash from Taylor’s fans on social media platforms such as X, with internet users leaving comments such as “Relax Swifties, Karma never gets lazy.”
Another wrote, “Negativity toward Taylor Swift won’t bring your music streams it’ll just bring you misery. People have been trying that for decades. Good luck?” as a third remarked, “Turning Swifties against you before even starting a music career is...a choice.”
Notably, other fans highlighted that the 14-time Grammy winner had specifically mentioned the date in one of her songs from Midnights titled High Infidelity.
