Dave Grohl reveals heartfelt ritual for his kids after returning from tour

Dave Grohl has opened up about the heartfelt routine he follows to reconnect with his children after long periods away on tour, revealing that family time in the kitchen plays a central role.

The Foo Fighters frontman shared that the first thing he does upon returning home is cook for his family, describing it as a comforting ritual that helps him reconnect after time on the road. 

Speaking on the Dish podcast, Grohl explained, “The first thing I do when I come home from being on tour is I like to cook for the family."

As per People's reports, he added that preparing meals, whether it’s a weekend roast or a simple pasta dish, allows him to bring a sense of warmth and normalcy back into the household.

According to Grohl, the act of cooking is less about the food itself and more about creating a shared, comforting experience for his children.

The 57-year-old musician, who shares three daughters with his wife Jordyn Blum and has a fourth child, has frequently spoken about how fatherhood reshaped his priorities. 

Once known for spending most of the year touring, Grohl has since emphasized limiting time away from his family and staying closely involved in his children’s lives.

As the band prepares to head back on tour to support their upcoming album, Grohl’s comments highlight the balance he continues to maintain between global stardom and family life.
