Colman Domingo is making his directorial debut with a Miramax release, Scandalous.

The biopic is based on the scandalous affair in 1957 between Hollywood film star Kim Novak and entertainment icon Sammy Davis Jr.

Although the movie, featuring Sydney Sweeney and David Jonsson, is presented by Domingo as a "beautiful, sweet movie" about the potential of love, the actual Novak is not falling into its trap.

The 93-year-old screen legend used a no-holds-barred interview with The Times of London to slur the casting of the Euphoria star.

"She was totally wrong to play me," the veteran star marked, because she would never have given the approval.

Novak did not criticize her only in a professional way, but it was a rather physical one.

She fired at the Sweeney bombshell image, suggesting that the actress protrudes so much above the waist and is afraid that the movie will focus more on bare sexuality rather than the real emotional connection between the two involved.

Novak complains that since she "looks sexy all the time," the love story that is fractured will be deprived of its heart by Hollywood sensationalism.

The production is going on in full capacity despite the public rejection of the legend.

Domingo insists that this film is a love movie at the very core, but no additional information and a date are strictly guarded secrets.

The factual point of cliffhanger in the film is whether Sweeney will be able to win over her worst critic on the big screen.
