Salt Lake City police interviewed Mary Cosby in January, a few weeks before the death of her son Robert Cosby Jr.
The mother of the 23-year-old deceased was in an investigation of domestic violence claims presented by his estranged wife.
In a police report that TMZ acquired, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star was contacted by the officers on January 9 about an incident that allegedly occurred in May 2024.
His then-wife, Alexiana Smokoff, claimed that Robert grabbed her by throat and then strangled her.
This was because she flushed his drugs down the toilet, she informed the police she had gone unconscious.
As per the statement, the alleged happened in the home of Mary, however, she did not witness the couple fight a lot and was not aware of any physical contacts.
Moreover, she denied that her son was a violent person claiming that she did not bring him up to be that manner.
She claimed that she had never witnessed injuries before, except when Robert and another individual jumped over a balcony when they were high.
Robert, who was on fentanyl and could not recall what happened during the fight in 2024.
He claimed that he informed his mother that he was physical with his wife, police stated him as in a state of "psychosis", behaving erratic and irrational.
Robert died on February 23, with two domestic violence offenses charges, concerning the case of 2024.
The divorce with Alexiana was reeled out when he was in jail.
