Meryl Streep opened up about her filming experience on The Devil Wears Prada sequel and co-star, Anne Hathaway's charge on the casting of models in the film.

In the original film, Streep starred as cut-throat, intimidating editor-in-chief, Miranda Priestly, of a top fashion magazine (Runway). 

Meanwhile, Hathaway starred as Andy Sachs, a young journalist who becomes Miranda's assistant despite having little interest in fashion.

Hathaway in an interview with the Harper Bazaar, recalled that due to the 2006s film uncertain outcome fashion brands were initially hesitant to get on board and lend clothes.

However, this time the cast attended actual fashion shows during Milan Fashion Week.

It was also the first time for Streep, who said she was "struck by how not only beautiful and young — everyone seems young to me — but alarmingly thin the models were."

She added, "I thought that all had been addressed years ago. Annie clocked it too."

The Mama Mia! star revealed that after experiencing the fashion week and coming across different models, Hathaway went straight to the producer to discuss their casting.

The Princess Diary actress made them "promise that the models in the show that we were putting together for our film would not be so skeletal!"

In addition to them, Stanley Tucci (Nigel Kipling) and Emily Blunt (Emily Charlton) will also be reprising their roles.

The new cast members also include, Lucy Liu, Justin Therox, Simone Ashly, Pauline Chalamet, Patrick Brammall and few more.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is in theatres on May 1.
