Michael B. Jordan shared rare insights into his journey after securing the Best Actor award at the Academy Awards.
On Sunday, March 15, the 39-year-old actor shared with reporters the mindset and approach that drove his work in film.
He stated, "I've always focused on trying to do the work. My father always told me don't expect anything to be handed to you."
He continued, "Do the work, you know, and it will figure itself out."
The Sinners actor also weighed in on the competitive side of the entertainment industry and how recognition can represent a major career milestone.
"There is a selfishness in understanding that in your craft and your industry...competitiveness, we do want that, you know? At the same time, what's for you is for you."
For the unversed, Michael B. Jordan beat nominees including Leonardo DiCaprio, Wagner Moura, Ethan Hawke and Timothée Chalamet to claim the award.
