Nicole Kidman has revealed a sweet and surprising way she bonds with her teenage daughters.
The 58-year-old Oscar-winning actress admitted she and one of her daughters, either Sunday, 17, or Faith, 15, love to act out scenes from the 2011 comedy hit Bridesmaids whenever they need a lift.
Speaking on the latest episode of Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers’ Las Culturistas podcast, Kidman said: “We watch Bridesmaids when we’re feeling down. Whenever we need a lift, we watch it, we recite it, we act it out, and we do that in the kitchen. That’s our saviour film to pull us out of a funk.”
The film, which follows Annie Walker (Kristen Wiig) navigating chaos as maid-of-honour at her friend Lillian’s (Maya Rudolph) wedding, has long been a fan favourite.
Most importantly, it's it’s a hit in the Kidman household too.
Rose Byrne, who starred as Annie’s rival Helen, has also expressed interest in revisiting the iconic film, telling People in 2023: “Maybe we could do a different movie together.
But I miss them all. It was so lovely to see Kristen Wiig recently… they’ve all got such a special place in my heart.”
Melissa McCarthy, who played Megan, echoed the sentiment: “I would do a Bridesmaids sequel this afternoon, right now. That group of women was the most magical thing ever.”
Despite the cast’s enthusiasm, director Paul Feig has ruled out a sequel, insisting the original’s magic came from Annie’s personal crisis.
Even Kristen Wiig recently revealed the iconic food-poisoning scene wasn’t scripted, showing how much improvisation and fun went into creating a comedy classic.
