Doja Cat has dramatically walked back her criticism of Timothée Chalamet after admitting she spoke out “in the heat of the moment.”

The 30-year-old pop superstar confessed she actually knows “nothing” about opera or ballet.

Paint the Town Red hitmaker had previously taken aim at the 30-year-old actor after he remarked that “no one cares” about traditional art forms such as opera and ballet anymore.

At the time, Doja posted a fiery video defending the centuries-old art forms, pointing out that opera has existed for around 400 years and ballet for roughly 500.

But in a surprising twist, the rapper has now deleted the clip and returned to social media to admit she wasn’t speaking from experience at all.

In a candid TikTok video, she confessed she had never attended either an opera or a ballet performance and had jumped into the debate simply to feel part of the conversation.

“I’m going to come out and say that I know nothing about opera. I know nothing about ballet,” she admitted.

“I’ve never been to a ballet. I’ve never seen an opera.”

The Woman star went on to say she had been “virtue signalling” in her original rant and was chasing the approval that often comes from online outrage.

“I think I just wanted a hug,” she said frankly.

“I wanted to feel like I was part of something bigger than myself.”

Meanwhile, Timothée ’s original comments came during a discussion with Matthew McConaughey about modern movie audiences and the pressure on films to deliver fast-paced entertainment.

The Marty Supreme actor stressed he meant no disrespect to performers in those art forms.

But admitted he personally wouldn’t want to work in an industry where creators constantly have to plead with audiences to keep it alive.
