Maura Higgins has teamed up with singer-songwriter Eric Nam and other cast members from The Traitors for the music video accompanying his new single How the Fire Started.

The Western-themed visual plays on the betrayal that unfolded in the reality show’s season finale, where Nam’s alliance crumbled, and Rob Rausch ultimately claimed the prize.

In the video, Higgins sports a cowgirl look as part of a stylised story in which Nam and fellow Traitors castmates, including Ron Funches, Natalie Anderson and Yam Yam Arocho, confront Rausch in a dramatic standoff.

According to Daily Mail, the narrative sees the group tying up Rausch and staging an over-the-top showdown, complete with symbolic elements like cutting his signature overalls and staging a mock fire scene, before a twist sees one of the cast intervening.

Moreover, Nam, who was voted out during the Fire of Truth ceremony on The Traitors, told media outlets that the song and video are inspired by the emotions and themes of betrayal from the show, but intended in a playful, theatrical spirit rather than as real animosity.

The video’s release marks another post-show project for Higgins as she continues to capitalize on her rising profile in the U.S. entertainment scene following her Traitors run and other high-profile appearances.
