Christian Bale has also openly told his fans that they should not expect to see him in real life because it would be a "terrible disappointment."
The 52-year-old Hollywood veteran warned as he goes on to market his next gothic romance The Bride!.
During the London debut, the Oscar nominee confessed that he finds it difficult to cope with the distance between the characters that he portrays on screen and his real self.
“I'm never cool,” Bale told the outlet. “I don't want to meet people I see in films, I don't want to see my heroes."
Bale further remarked on the change of reaction by fans, “I see it in people’s eyes when they’ve watched my movies and loved them and then they meet me…"
Moreover he added that their "terrible disappointment about who I really am. And it’s true, what a disappointment. That’s me at my best in the movie.”
He made the comments several years after his notorious on-set tantrum in 2009 lashing out at the director of cinematography Shane Hurlbut for distracting him.
However, he later apologised, citing his words as "inexcusable" and taking his "full responsibility."
Both Frankenstein and The Bride of Frankenstein inspired the project directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal that features the actor whose transformation in films was so intense that he played the Monster of Frankenstein.
Moreover, the intense makeup sessions which took six hours a day and resulted him in screaming out frustration which later became a type of bonding activity with the staff.
