Yorgos Lanthimos’s snaps of Emma Stone spark fresh ‘romance’ rumors

Yorgos Lanthimos and Emma Stone have collaborated on multiple films together and it’s clear that the two have developed comfort and familiarity via their shared projects, but the director-actor’s bond has also been the subject of salacious rumours.

The Greek filmmaker and the La La Land are both married to different people, but social media speculation likens their professional partnership to a personal relationship.

Since the Bugonia duo attended the BAFTAs together, the 52-year-old who typically shares artistic images to his Instagram to share similar snaps of the two-time Academy Award winner which made netizens doubt the pair’s friendship.

In the images shared on Yorgos’ social media, two were close-up blurry shots of Emma, while one was of her back, walking away.

Internet users took to platforms such as X to re-share the image and write things such as “He posts her like Kirsten Dunst posts about Jessie plemons,” referring to the duo that is married.

Another remarked, “he is in love,” as a third added, “ I'll know he's the one when he captures me like this.”

However, a fourth netizen wrote, “The funny thing about people trying to spread rumors is like most of Emma’s pics are liked by Yorgos’s wife!! She’s using her wedding ring and her husband doesn’t like to go to these events. A man and a woman can be friends you know… get over it!”

Notably, Emma has previously revealed that she is attracted to the material and the kind of stories Yorgos tells through his films.
