Sarah Shahi for the first time, voiced her side on the one-year prior breakup with Adam Demos.
The 46-year-old disclosed that motherhood affected the termination of their five-year relationship.
Only a month into their separation, the Sex/Life star went very forthright in the 10th episode of Let's Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari.
Sarah began the conversation with, "Without airing any kind of laundry 'cause I'm not here for that."
Continuing, "I do think when you have kids, it's hard to build a life when you have children unless the person truly, truly, truly wants that as well."
The actress made it clear that it was not about Adam as a person but her close attachment to her three children, William, sixteen, and 10-year-old twins Violet and Knox, whom she shares with her ex-husband Steve Howey.
The Fairly Legal star described her appearance as a parent, "I show up as a parent in a very specific way."
Recounting her growing up in Texas with a single mother, Sarah explained that there was a lack of boundaries in her household.
She said it was fine for her to walk into her mom's room and bathroom at any time.
However, she marked that this type of dynamics could be problematic for some people who might not be accustomed to having kids.
The dyad became acquainted in 2021 during the Netflix show. She acknowledged that in real life, things were more complicated.
"It's great for love to be easy," she marked, adding "but then the life stuff should also not be so difficult."
In prospect, Sarah is not shutting out love. But has claimed that she has changed her priorities.
"I want my next relationship to be about me," she said, as the star not seeking a step-father, she concluded, “I just want a boyfriend."
