Britney Spears has reportedly made a massive career move, after alleged issues with money owed to the IRS.
The singer has apparently parted ways with her iconic and extensive music catalog, and sold it to a New York based company.
As per TMZ, the “landmark” deal took place on December 30th and the private music publishing company called Primary Wave has bought the rights to her music for approximately the same amount that Justin Bieber did, $200 million.
It contained the Grammy winner’s hits such as Toxic, …Baby One More Time, Oops!… I Did It Again, Everytime, Piece of Me and Gimme More.
Britney has nine studio albums and is also widely regarded as one of the bestselling female artists of all time.
Although the 44-year-old has not outright confirmed the deal, she reportedly celebrated the move with her sons Sean Preston Federline, 20, and Jayden James Federline, 19 at the time.
Britney was placed under a conservatorship in the past, and could not have made financial decisions such as this one at the time because they were monitored by the conservator.
Notably, the move comes at the heels of reports that the 2000’s icon has racked up around $600,000 in back taxes and penalties.
Britney has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and postpartum depression in the past.
