Taylor Swift opted out of participating in the star-studded ad campaigns for the Winter Olympics, but she did make a brief cameo during the inaugural ceremony.

The So High School singer appeared in a video ahead of the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony to send a message to the competing athletes.

In the beginning, the global popstar introduced herself and said that she wanted to send a message to those participating, adding "I just wanted to say thank you!"

"Getting to learn your stories and see everything that you’ve sacrificed and all your determination and hard work and passion and everything that’s gotten you to this point where you’re so excellent at something, it’s just really inspiring," Taylor stated.

The 14-time Grammy winner expressed gratitude at being able to witness the Olympians journey, and also for their efforts that allowed them to share the prestigious stage with each other.

"I just hope that you have a wonderful Olympic games. Wishing you all the best of luck and a safe journey and I hope that this is an experience that you will cherish for the rest of your life,” the 36-year-old added.

Notably the Opalite singer’s message to the Winter Olympics athletes came just hours after she had released the music video for the song.
