As people unwrap their gifts and complete Christmas feasts, often they head out to watch a movie with family as it is a national holiday in most countries.

On December 24 and 25, the families flocked to theatres to watch an array of movies that were available.

Leading the box office board this Christmas is unsurprisingly James Cameron’s third Avatar movie Avatar: Fire and Ash which dominated the theatres raking up $10.7 million on Wednesday from 3,800 North American theaters.

The films followed by James’ creation are way behind namely, Marty Supreme, Anaconda, Song Sung Blue and Zootopia 2.

Jack Black and Paul Rudd starrer Anaconda made $2.1 million from 2,808 theaters.

Timothee Chalamet’s passion project which he has promoted extensively, Marty Supreme, is right behind Anaconda with $2.01 million.

Another runner in the race is Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson’s emotional drama Song Sung Blue which is projected to earn $10 million to $14 million in its first week of release.

The allover Christmas eve total in 2025 was $27 million, which is 5% increase from 2024.
