Meghan Markle has set the record straight regarding her father Thomas Markle and her relationship.
The duchess’ father, who has been estranged from her since 2018 when she married Prince Harry, underwent a surgery last week in which his leg was removed.
As per reports, Thomas had not been in contact with Meghan for long and wanted to meet his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet.
Recently, Thomas told Daily Mail that he had no talked to his daughter.
Now, Meghan's spokesperson has shut down rumours saying the outlet has caused issues between the father daughter duo.
The person said “Given that a Daily Mail reporter has remained at her father’s bedside throughout, broadcasting each interaction and breaching clear ethical boundaries, it has been exceedingly difficult for the Duchess to contact her father privately, despite her efforts over the past several days.”
They also clarified that now they are in contact after reliable and trusted contacts have supported their correspondence.
Meghan had personally called several hospitals in an effort to locate her father.
The duchess was only 2 when her parents parted ways and later finalised their divorce in 1987.
