Judi Dench makes controversial comment on Harvey Weinstein

British acting legend Judi Dench has made a controversial comment about convicted felon Harvey Weinstein.

The American film producer was accused of grave sexual offences and was later convicted in 2023.

Harvey was accused by more than 80 women which sparked the beginning of the #MeToo social media campaign.

The Me Too moment was a major phenomenon which saw many women come out and open up about their experiences with sexual harassment.

In a conversation with The Radio Times, Judi said she saw a video of the convicted offender walking with sticks in prison.

The disgraced producer is serving 16 years in prison for his crimes in Rikers Island jail.

“I saw a bit of film of Harvey walking with two sticks and you think, ‘Well…’, I knew Harvey and I knew him well and worked with him, and I had none of that experience – very fortunately for me” she said.

The actress said she has sympathy for his victims but believes he has served his time saying, “I imagine he’s done his time”.
