It appears that David Corenswet is being cancelled in real time for his recent remarks to Jonathan Bailey in their sit down chat.

The Pearl actor’s comment has gone viral for social media for being somewhat misogynistic and ascribing to traditional gender roles.

In the duo’s interview for Variety’s Actors on Actors segment, the two realised that both of them had a kissing scene midair in their films, in Wicked: For Good and Superman.

David, while discussing Jonathan’s scene said, “...you are carried by Cynthia. She’s levitating you. Every man out there would think there’s no way you can look masculine and powerful and in control when you’re being levitated by a woman.”

He added, “and you, in that moment when she’s lifting you by your fucking massive arms, maintained your masculinity. Well done, mate because it’s a lot easier when you’re carrying the girl.”

In response, the Bridgerton actor appear a bit confused, but stated that he would be open to being carried by either Cynthia or Ariana if he could, for the rest of his life going on to compliment the women on their acting.

David’s observation has since been ripped apart on social media, namely X, for being odd and something that has ruined his reputation in netizens mind.

“Straight men are plagued with constantly worrying about / feeling inadequate in their masculinity and this is a sad reminder that even David Corenswet is in this category.” one wrote.

Another put, “David corenswet. Stop talking please i can’t take much more,” athird internet user chimed in, “why did u all make that white misogynist david corenswet famous? Yikes.”

A fourth remarked, “can’t remember the last time someone fumbled internet boyfriend status as quickly as david corenswet.”
