Jeffrey Epstein ‘wanted Andrew and Sarah Ferguson dead’, royal historian says

A chilling assassination plot allegedly orchestrated by Jeffrey Epstein targeted Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, according to explosive new claims.

Historian Andrew Lownie, author of Entitled, a book examining the former royal couple, has revealed that Epstein became increasingly paranoid while awaiting trial and feared the pair “knew too much” about his activities.

Speaking about the extraordinary allegation, Lownie said: “He spoke to a hitman who was a former member of the British SAS and said he wanted the Yorks dead. He wanted to remove them. I’ve been told this by two reliable sources, one in Paris and a former FBI agent in Florida, and I can believe it’s true.”

However, he clarified that Epstein’s state of mind made him difficult to assess, adding: “Epstein said all sorts of things, and you can’t always believe what he said.”

During an appearance on The Daily Beast podcast, Lownie continued: “I don’t know how far he got with the plans. But I think he was very nervous before he died. It’s extraordinary and like a scene from The Day of the Jackal — but nothing about this saga is normal.”

Lownie also addressed recent claims about Sarah Ferguson’s email exchanges with Epstein, explaining that the former duchess had been left deeply shaken. He said the 66-year-old was “terrified”, adding:

“She was worried about her safety and that of her daughters. Epstein mixed with some pretty nasty people, so the fear was real.”

According to Lownie, Epstein had become consumed by paranoia, convinced the Royal Family would eliminate him: “Jeffrey became paranoid the Palace would kill him.”

In a dramatic conclusion, he claimed: “If Jeffrey hadn’t died, Andrew and Fergie would have been murdered. They knew too much.”
