Simon Cowell opened up about his decision to be a judge for shows like American Idol, The X Factor, and Britain’s Got Talent.

Simon claims rather to spit out harsh truths than give false hopes to the candidates, leading fans to wonder if he questions his demeanor and conduct.

The 66-year-old, in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, admitted that while he sometimes winces at things as he stands by his no-nonsense approach towards talent.

“Look, every one of us is gonna say at one point, God, I shouldn’t have said that,” he reflected.

The “But it’s kinder to be really clear to someone who has zero talent. I’m not going to bull*t these people and give them fake hope.”

Cowell explained that his straightforwardness is eventually a result of his desire to protect aspiring performers from false dreams.

Cowell further emphasised that this attitude is not biased towards emerging talent only. Marking if his own 11-year-old son Eric wanted to sing but was out of tune, he would not hesitate to tell him that he cannot sing.

“I wouldn’t lie to him,” Cowell labelled his truth clearly.

Notably, the renowned judge has recently been candid about ongoing blame for Liam Payne’s death.
