Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes have called time on their romance once more, just weeks after rekindling their relationship.
The pair, who first split in September after two years together, reportedly ended things “this past week” after a turbulent reunion.
An insider told Us Weekly that things between the 32-year-old singer and 33-year-old actor were “so rocky and toxic,” adding: “It was too much for Kelsea.”
Notably, jealousy and trust issues, particularly stemming from Kelsea’s 2022 split from ex-husband Morgan Evans, also played an important part.
Despite the split, their friends insist it’s not necessarily the end. “There’s a chance they could get back together,” the source said.
They weren’t surprised by their brief reunion, revealing the couple “never really stopped being in touch” and “picked up where they left off.”
The estranged pair were spotted looking very loved-up near Edinburgh Castle in October, holding hands and smiling during a night out.
Eyewitness Gemma Kennedy said: “They seemed like the sweetest people, very happy and smiley.”
Miss Me More hitmaker previously admitted she was nervous before meeting Outer Banks star for the first time after weeks of texting and FaceTiming.
Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast, she recalled: “I thought I was gonna pass out… you can have chemistry over the phone, but when you see each other, it’s nerve-wracking!”
Notably, they are taking space, while fans are anticipating that a reunion could be just around the corner.
