Charli xcx plays a pop star very much like herself in the teaser trailer for her new movie 'The Moment'.
The teaser of the mockumentary drama film shared glimpses of Alexander Skarsgard, Rosanna Arquette, Isaac Cole Powell, Kate Berlant, Rish Shah, Jamie Demetriou, Rachel Sennott and socialite Kylie Jenner.
The Moment is based on an original idea from Charli xcx, centers on a buzzy pop star dealing with the demands of stardom ahead of her first arena tour.
Although the film is scripted, the 33-year-old pop artist impersonated a version of herself, as the upcoming marked her real name and album title Brat, which can be seen in the trailer.
The trailer does not convey much about the plot, yet she spilled, “Nothing was more important than Brat.”
The songstress added, “When I felt like people started to care about me, nothing else mattered.”
Notably, Aidan Zamiri marks the forthcoming as his directorial debut, the script is co-written by Bertie Brandes and Charli xcx, whereas David Hinojosa serves as producer.
The Grammy-awarded musician recently acquired her onscreen credits, in films including Faces of Death, I Want Your Sex, The Gallerist and A Tree Is Blue, with the latter being Dakota Johnson’s directorial debut.
During the last interview with Vanity Fair, Charli xcx declared that The Moment is fiction, deeming it “a 2024 period piece. It’s not a tour documentary or a concert film in any way, but the seed of the idea was conceived from this idea of being pressured to make one.”
Notably, the A24 film is set to release in theaters on Jan. 26, 2026.
