Nicki Minaj has finally made her way to the United Nations after standing up, and voicing her concerns about Nigerian Christians.

The Barbie World rapper had thanked the President of the United States for bringing the matter to light, and for wanting to take action against those responsible for the wrongdoings.

At the panel, the 42-year-old clarified, “I want to make it very clear, once again, that this isn’t about taking sides. This is about standing up in the face of injustice. It’s about what I’ve always stood for.”

Nicki added, “Religious freedom means we all sing our faith regardless of who we are, where we live and what we believe, but today faith is under attack in way too many places. In Nigeria, Christians are being targeted, driven from their homes and killed.”

The Chun-Li rapper also talked about the fact that discrimination against anyone on the basis of their faith is condemnable, and called Nigeria a beautiful nation with deep faith traditions.

Although Nicki sides with the politician on the matter, the Nigerian officials have expressed surprise and disapproval over the 79-year-old’s call for military action, emphasising that the situation is more nuanced than he is making it out to be.

Notably the Trinidadian rapper ended her speech by calling her fans, ‘Barbz’ the ultimate light in her life and career, restating that the speech wasn’t about taking sides, likely referring to her political beliefs.
