Florence Pugh has opened up about the good and bad intimacy coordinators for sex scenes in movies.

During her recent appearance on The Louis Theroux Podcast, the British actress shared that she’s had “fantastic experiences with intimacy coordinators.”

“However, I’ve also had a s--- example,” she added.

Avoiding any specific details, Pugh reflected on her experience on set with an intimacy coordinator who “made it so weird and so awkward and really wasn’t helpful and kind of was just, like, wanting to be a part of the set in a way that wasn’t helpful.”

“I think it’s a job that’s still figuring itself out,” the Thunderbolts actress added.

The critically acclaimed actress, who broke out with indie movies like the 2016 breakout Lady Macbeth, shared that she has filmed intimacy scenes under the guidance of an intimacy coordinator as well.

Pugh has starred as the onscreen love interest of Harry Styles in Don’t Worry, Darling, Cillian Murphy in Oppenheimer, and Andrew Garfield in We Live in Time, among others.

“I’m confident and comfortable in my own skin, and I’ve always made sure my voice is heard,” Pugh explained.

Recently, Pugh starred as Yelena Belova in Thunderbolts (May 2025) and plays lead/executive producer on Netflix’s East of Eden (2026).
