Jennifer Lawrence has shared an honest reflection on her experience shooting Die My Love.
While speaking to Vulture, Lawrence admitted that while promoting and releasing such an intense film can feel “very violating,” the process of making it, especially while pregnant, was surprisingly comforting.
The Oscar-winning actress praised her co-star Robert Pattinson, revealing that their on-screen intimacy never felt awkward.
“I felt really safe with him,” Lawrence said. “He’s not pervy and he’s very in love with [partner] Suki [Waterhouse]. We mostly were talking about our kids and relationships.”
The No Hard Feelings star also expressed admiration for director Lynne Ramsay, crediting her collaborative, grounded approach for shaping the film’s raw emotional tone.
“I have found a commonality in female directors—they don’t over-direct,” she explained. “With some male directors, there’s this constant need to show they’re in charge. It’s just annoying.”
Praising Ramsay’s subtle guidance, Lawrence added, “She built this world and then slowly walked back, letting us find the emotions ourselves. Sometimes from that discomfort, something magical came out.”
Die My Love marks a new chapter for Lawrence, balancing her fierce artistry with the personal vulnerability she now openly embraces.
