Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has officially been summoned to appear before the US Congress to answer questions about his ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, marking a dramatic new chapter in the ongoing scandal that has haunted the former royal for years.
Congressman Robert Garcia, the top Democrat on the Oversight Committee, said: “Rich and powerful men have evaded justice for far too long. Now, former Prince Andrew has the opportunity to come clean and provide justice for survivors.”
The formal letter, co-signed by 15 Democratic committee members, was sent this week, requesting a response from Andrew by November 20.
Lawmakers cited the disgraced royal’s long-standing friendship with Epstein and a now-infamous 2011 email where Andrew allegedly wrote, “We are in this together.”
Congressman Suhas Subramanyam added: “If he’s innocent, he can clear his name. If not, our investigation will show that — and the victims will finally get justice.”
