King of Pop Michael Jackson’s biopic, Michael, officially gets a trailer release.
The music legend who passed away in 2009 will be played by his nephew, Jaafar Jackson, in the upcoming movie based on his life.
Lionsgate studios have released the first ever trailer for the movie which has been in works for a long time.
The trailer opens with a clip of MJ in studio with Quincy Jones, played by Kendrick Sampson.
The trailer includes clips of the pop star’s childhood and iconic performances and music videos.
Jaafar will star alongside Miles Teller as Jackson’s attorney and adviser John Branca.
The parents of the iconic band The Jackson 5 will be played by Colman Domingo and Nia Long.
The highly anticipated movie is slated to release on April 24, 2026, moving from its original Oct. 3, 2025 date.
There were earlier reports of it being in two parts but now it seems like there will be one movie only.
The synopsis of the movie describes it to be an exploration of the “global superstar’s journey to become known to the world as the King of Pop”.
