Cher opens up about her wild 40-year age gap romance

Cher has once again proved to us that love knows no rules or boundaries.

The 79-year-old pop legend, who will turn 80 next May, opened up on her relationship with 39-year-old Alexander “AE” Edwards.

The Dressed to Kill singer couldn’t help but gush about her boyfriend of nearly three years.

During an interview on CBS Mornings with Gayle King, the Believe vocalist expressed, “We laugh all the time, you know? I just love him.”

“I think he’s beautiful. He’s really talented. He’s one of the most talented persons I’ve ever met.”

The couple publicly announced their relationship in November 2022. When asked about her thoughts on the ongoing criticism of their 40-year age gap, she did not hold back.

“Whatever,” she shrugged and explained, “They’re not living my life. Nobody knows what goes on between us, but we just have a blast.”

She also admitted to enjoying the company of her six-year-old stepson, Slash Electric Alexander, whom Edwards shares with ex-girlfriend Amber Rose.

Referring to his child as “smart, funny, and a delight,” Cher joked, “I used to say, ‘God, give me a toddler and a man,’ and I got exactly what I asked for.”

While speaking about her unconventional romance in an interview with Kelly Clarkson, Cher admitted, “On paper it’s kind of ridiculous. But in real life, we get along great. He’s fabulous, and I don’t give men qualities that they don’t deserve.”

Cher, who has a decades-long legendary music career, is still busy rewriting the rules of society and living life on her own terms.
