Beauty brand Huda Beauty has ended their partnership with Love Island USA season 7 star, Huda Mustafa.
Following a racism scandal including the influencer, the brand called out the actions of one of their "recent collaborators" who has "displayed behavior that does not align with our values."
A clip from a livestream from Mustafa and her partner, Louis Russell, went viral after a fan used a slur against the former’s Love Island costar and model Olandria Carthen.
The statement continued, "We are truly disappointed by Huda Mustafa's recent live and we take all forms of racism very seriously. While we don't believe her actions reflect her character, we found them deeply upsetting."
The couple answered a call from an unknown number during the stream, who then went on to use the slur. The pair responded by being shocked before laughing and ending the call.
Huda Beauty then made their intentions clear, "As a result. We have decided to end our partnership and remove any related content from our social platforms and in-store displays."
Carthen herself addressed the livestream and in an Instagram story said that she does not condone racism "not in anger, not as a joke, not ever."
"Words like that carry generations of pain, and pretending otherwise only keeps the cycle going," the reality TV star added. "Defending it, laughing about it, or making excuses is even worse.”
She has previously called out Mustafa on camera for failing to address the racism the latter’s fans directed at the former.
Mustafa initially underestimated the backlash against her reaction, however, she ended up putting out a statement and apologizing to Carthen.
