Stevie Knicks and Lindsey Buckingham’s tumultuous and passionate love story has given the world some great hits, and after a while of separation, the pair seems to be getting back on good terms.
The high-school lovers have re-issued their debut album, Buckingham Knicks, which first came out in 1973, and discussed the making of the track Frozen Love off of the album.
Since the pair kept their appearances separate on the Song Exploder podcast, the Silver Springs songwriter explained her perspective of things, with a detail that hints that the duo is friendly now.
"Lindsey and I started talking about it last night. This whole thing seems really like yesterday to us," Knicks said, referring to the time they first connected as teenagers.
The 77-year-old also revealed that the former couple fell in love after they left their first band Fritz, before joining Fleetwood Mac.
Reflecting on Frozen Love, Knicks stated "The song is about two people that were in love, that had a lot of differences and saw the world slightly differently, but had this like relationship that seemed to be, like a gift.”
Notably, the Landslide songwriter also compared the song to modern day modern-day, tragic love stories like Wuthering Heights or Great Expectations, adding that bother her and Buckingham love sad songs.
Knicks gave Swift her blessings and said that she wishes that the global popstar get whatever she wants, and hopes that the 35-year-old and her fiancé Travis Kelce “fall deeper and deeper in love and ride off into the sunset.”
