Sydney Sweeney, who is known for her role in Euphoria, discussed some of the biggest challenges while delivering a speech.
After the 28-year-old actress stirred major controversies, Sydney took the stage at Variety’s Power of Women event.
The Immaculate lead admitted what “it feels like to be underestimated” as she referred to her personal experience.
While the star continues to rise in her career, it seemingly took a lot of work for her to reach there.
She revealed being one of those who were defined by others “before you’ve had the chance to define yourself.”
The A-list celebrity learned her lesson by playing lead in Christy, based on former professional boxer Christy Martin.
She explained to the audience how important it is to get “back up again and again no matter who’s watching.”
Although surviving was difficult, the Anyone But You star understood “it isn’t the end of story it’s beginning of reclaiming it.”
She shared a special message for the young girls, reminding them they “don’t have to wait for permissions to be brave, [or] shrink yourselves to make others comfortable.”
Earlier, the Housemaid star received severe backlash for her American Eagle advertisement which was called out for being “racist.”
Moreover, she joined hands with Dr. Squatch to launch a body soap made with her bathwater.
It seems that Sydney indirectly slammed all the haters with her Variety speech, confirming she won’t be shrinking herself as she advances in her career.
