Sydney Sweeney breaks down over emotional return to ‘Euphoria’ set

Sydney Sweeney, who recently made headlines for her new romance with Scooter Braun, has opened up about a turbulent phase in her life.

The 28-year-old actress, who plays Cassie Howard in the hit HBO drama, revealed to Variety that it was very challenging to step back onto the Euphoria set without her late co-star, Angus Cloud.

“It was definitely a very emotional experience to go back to a set and not have him be there with you,” Sydney said. 

“He was such a special person, and he was taken way too young.”

For those unfamiliar, the actor, beloved for his role as Fezco, died at just 25 in July 2023 from a drug overdose.

The Immaculate star shared that she leaned heavily on her loved ones and fellow castmates in the days following Angus’ death. 

“My first call was Maude [Apatow], and then Jacob [Elordi], and we were all just crying on the phone together,” she said.

Angus’ death was confirmed by his family, who described him as “an incredible human” and revealed he had been struggling with grief after losing his father just a week earlier.

“He’ll always be part of our Euphoria family,” Scooter's girlfriend concluded.

Notably, Euphoria season 3 is officially set to return in spring 2026, though several cast members will be absent. 

Most notably, Angus Cloud, Storm Reid, Barbie Ferreira, Austin Abrams, Algee Smith, and Nika King will not be returning.

Sydney Sweeney and music executive Scooter Braun are reportedly dating.

The two were first spotted together in June 2025 while attending Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding in Venice, Italy. 

Since then, the pair have been seen on several outings, including celebrating Sydney’s 28th birthday, and have frequently been photographed holding hands.
