Janelle Monáe, who never fails to bring unique and imaginative ideas to Halloween, once again proved that it’s truly her season to shine.

The 38-year-old singer left the audience in awe as she transformed into Dr. Seuss’s iconic The Cat in the Hat during her appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show.

The Dirty Computer actress strutted onto the stage in full cat attire, complete with a red-and-white striped hat, painted whiskers, and a touch of her signature confidence.

“Do I call you Cat in the Hat or Janelle Monáe?” host Hudson joked, unable to contain her laughter.

Ever the performer, Monáe replied in perfect Seussian flair: “You’re sitting next to the Cat in the Hat. Don’t get out your baseball bat!” sending the audience into fits of giggles.

The 44-year-old actress gushed over the look, calling it “amazing,” while the Yoga crooner insisted, “What costume? I decided to come as me!”

Notably, the playful banter continued as the two chatted about Monáe’s past Halloween transformations, from last year’s incredible E.T. costume, which reportedly took nine hours to perfect, to this year’s mischievous feline persona.

“I’ve always dreamt of coming as the Cat in the Hat,” Monáe said with a grin. “It’s pure joy — that’s what Halloween is about.”

Fans online couldn’t agree more, hailing her as “the queen of creative costumes” and “the real magic behind Halloween.”

How did Janelle Monáe get famous?

Janelle Monáe first gained attention after self-financing and releasing her debut demo The Audition in 2003 under her own Wondaland Arts Society label.

Her big break came in 2006 when she was featured on two tracks from Outkast’s Idlewild album, which led Big Boi to introduce her to Sean “Diddy” Combs

This connection helped launch her mainstream career, leading to her acclaimed debut album The ArchAndroid in 2010.
