Princess Dianas sister hospitalised after bad fall from horse, Earl Spencer confirms

Lady Sarah McCorquodale, the eldest sister of the late Princess Diana, has been “seriously injured” following a horse-riding accident, according to her brother, Earl Charles Spencer.

Speaking on the Rosebud podcast, the Earl revealed that the 70-year-old, who is Prince William and Prince Harry’s aunt, was hospitalised after taking a “really bad fall.”

“Sarah, who is nearly a decade older than me, is quite punchy,” he said. “She’s still riding, and she’s had a really bad fall in the last month and has been in hospital for a long time. I think she’s been quite a handful as a patient,” he added.

Lady Sarah, who once briefly dated King Charles III before introducing him to Diana, is known for her spirited personality and lifelong love of horses.

Earl Spencer also contrasted her temperament with that of their other sister, Lady Jane Fellowes, whom he described as “really sweet and really funny.”

Though Lady Sarah’s exact injuries remain undisclosed, the family is said to be rallying around her during recovery at their Althorp Estate, where Princess Diana is buried.
