Dakota Johnson, famed for her bold role in Fifty Shades of Grey, continues to prove that she follows her own rules, particularly when it comes to fashion.
The 36-year-old actress and director opened up in a revealing Vogue Germany cover story about her daring “naked” dresses.
The Madame Web star insisted she pays no attention to what critics or fans think.
When questioned about wearing “too sexy” outfits, Dakota was blunt: “I really don’t care.”
She went on to explain that wearing beautiful, daring gowns makes her feel empowered, not exposed.
“Sometimes those dresses look good on me. But there are also some we’ve tried on that didn’t look good at all,” she said.
“If I find a beautiful dress that I feel comfortable in, of course I want to wear it! And it’s fun to wear a sexy dress.”
Dakota, daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, credited her mother with instilling body confidence from a young age.
“My mom taught us how to take care of our bodies and love them,” she said.
Her most recent show-stopping looks that turned heads and made headlines included a sheer black lace Gucci gown at the Kering Foundation dinner in New York and a long-sleeved indigo lace number at the Zurich Film Festival.
Dakota Johnson’s recent films include Materialists, a romantic comedy-drama about modern dating, and Splitsville, exploring open relationships.
She is also set to make her feature directorial debut with A Tree Is Blue, a story about a young autistic woman breaking free from maternal constraints.
